Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! Yesterday’s run was ah-mazing. It was one of those runs where I felt like I could have kept going. I’m not used to having runs like this recently, so it was a pleasant surprise. The weather was perfect too (low humidity, 65 degrees, and no wind).

Sticking with my Friday tradition, I want to share some of my favorite things with you.

  • Making my own products with my Young Living essential oils (FYI: If you’re interested in starting your own oil journey, Young Living is having an incredible sale on the Premier Starter kits for today only. If you’d like more information, let me know and I can help. Smile)

The face wash is one of my favorites. It leaves my (sensitive acne-prone) skin so soft, hydrated, and clean. It removes make-up perfectly, too! I use the Thieves Cleaner on everything (countertops, bathrooms, tub, shower, highchair, windows, mirrors, etc.). It disinfects and leaves everything squeaky clean. The body wash smells amazing, but I can’t wait to try some other summery scents (like coconut lime). The base of the face toner is apple cider vinegar (I swear this stuff makes a huge difference on my skin). The hand sanitizer doesn’t dry out my hands AND I can use it on “S” without fear of her having a bunch of chemicals on her skin. The best thing about making my own products is that I know exactly what goes into them and they are free of harmful chemicals.

  • Pasture Raised Eggs

IMG_3876

We had been trying to find a local farm that offered pasture raised eggs. Unfortunately, there weren’t any that were close to us. A friend of my husband was randomly telling him that his hens are laying so many eggs that his family can’t eat them all. So now, every week, we pay him for a dozen of eggs. It’s neat seeing how very different all of the eggs are. It also feels good knowing that the eggs we’re consuming are coming from hens that are free roaming. Plus, the eggs taste so good!

  • Happy Tot Organics

There are so many things I love about these veggie pouches. “S” likes these A LOT. In fact, when she isn’t in the mood for her regular meals (like times of teething or times when she doesn’t like certain textures <—this happens a lot lately), she’ll always eat these. I feel good knowing she’s getting the proper nutrients she needs (along with a full serving of veggies).

  • BOB Revolution SE Jogging Stroller

This stroller has been nothing short of amazing for me. It glides so smoothly (like a hot knife through butter). I also have the BOB Motion for every day use. I can definitely notice a major difference with how well the Revolution maneuvers. The only negative I have for it, is that it is very bulky regarding storage (but aren’t most jogging strollers?). It definitely takes up a lot of room.

There you have my “Friday Favorites”. Thanks for reading! Have a wonderful Friday & a great weekend!

Friday Favorites

TGIF! I thought it would be fun to designate my Friday posts as, “Friday Favorites”. I’ll be featuring things that I’m currently enjoying. These are my current favorites:

  • Smashpop Popcorn Crisps

These are so good! I usually have these as my afternoon snack. They have the perfect balance of salt & sweet, plus it’s only 110 calories per serving (about 20 crisps). The ingredients are pretty decent too!

  • Charity Miles App

charity miles

This app is truly amazing! Your activity helps raise money for specific charities through corporate sponsorships.

Basically, you start the app when you go for a walk, run, or bike ride. Next, you select a charity. Here are some that you can choose from:

After you choose your favorite charity,  the app will measure your distance and you will help earn money for your charity. When you are finished your walk, run, or bike ride, you press “stop” on the app. It will tell you how much money you raised. It’s truly that simple. It’s definitely a motivational tool for me. I find that I push myself to go farther because I know that means my charity will earn more money.

  • Thieves Laundry Soap

As a first time mom, I sometimes learn things the hard way. This week, I fed “S” minestrone soup for lunch followed by a strawberry rhubarb popsicle (while wearing WHITE shorts…oops, I don’t know what I was thinking).
Not wanting to use any harmful chemicals to remove the stains, I put some Thieves laundry soap on them, gave them a little scrub, and the stains came right out!

To be honest, I just tried this laundry soap for the first time this week. I haven’t used it to do a full load of laundry yet (we currently use Molly’s Suds).  After seeing how amazing this laundry soap worked on the stains, I can’t wait to see how it works on a regular load.

  • Honeysuckles

IMG_3814

These are all over my community right now. Their scent takes me back to when I was a kid. I remember my friends and I would look for honeysuckles, pull the stem apart, and taste the sweet nectar (did anyone else do this?????). I’ve been enjoying seeing and smelling them while I’m out walking.

Well, those are my weekly favorites. I hope you enjoyed the first installment of my “Friday Favorites”. Smile

Have a great weekend!

~Kristin
